BodyTrans Data Export and Import

BodyTrans includes data import and export features that can save you a lot of time. There may be a workout, a food, an exercise, or many other pieces of BodyTrans data that you wish to import so that you don't have to enter it manually. That's where BodyTrans Import/Export comes in handy. BodyTrans imports and exports data in the XML format to files with a bti extension. This flat text file format is extremely flexible. A library of bti files is available on www.bodytrans.com for free download. You can add these food entries, workouts, etc to your BodyTrans data by selecting Import from the File menu. The import/export functionality in BodyTrans is also very useful for personal trainers. A trainer can enter a workout for one of their clients in their copy of BodyTrans and export that workout to a bti file. The trainer can then email that file to their client so that they can import it into their own copy of BodyTrans.

When you select Export from the File menu, you are presented with the Data Export screen from which you can export your BodyTrans data. Select the BodyTrans data you wish to export and the Category for the data. If you are exporting from a Category that consists of date fields, you will select the date range from which you wish to export. Select the rows for your export (all rows are selected by default), then click the Export button. You will be asked for a file name on your hard drive for export. This file will have a .bti extension. This file can now be imported into another copy of BodyTrans by selecting Import from the File menu.

When you select Import from the File menu, you are presented with the Data Import file selection screen. Browse for the bti file that contains the data that you wish to import. Click Open and the data from that file is imported into BodyTrans.
