Women's Fitness And BodyTrans

This month I came across a fantastic article about women's fitness.  To my female friends who ask me for advice, I always try to emphasize the importance of resistance training - lifting weights, pumping iron.

That's why BodyTrans includes a Training Log but no Cardio Log per say.  To "transform" your body - actually change the shape of it - instead of just becoming a smaller "pear", you must lift weights.  No wimping out either, pump the iron!

You should be doing as much resistance training as you are cardio.  Check out this article by Kristin Reisinger.  Kristin is a New York City-based nutritional consultant, fitness trainer, and a freelance health and fitness writer. She is currently completing her Master's Degree in Applied Physiology and Nutrition from Columbia University.

Back to BodyTrans
For those readers who haven't tried the latest version of BodyTrans, I'd like to point out some of the features I've recently added.  My number one request was that I give BodyTrans multi-user functionality.  Well, you've got it.  The latest version of BodyTrans supports multiple users in the same household.

I've also added some charts at the bottom of the Nutrition Log to give you a visual representation of the calories and macronutrient breakdown in your meals.  That piece has been a big hit as well.

The grids in all parts of BodyTrans have been updated.  There is more consistent cut, copy, paste, and delete functionality.  Because of the updated grids, partial day import is now supported when you import meals into the Nutrition Log or workouts into the Training Log.

One other thing.  In case you've never noticed, BodyTrans includes print functionality in several parts of the application.  You can print your workout to take with you to the gym.  Just select Print from the File pull-down menu after you create your workout in the Training Log.  The Nutrition Log includes the same functionality.

What's in the works
Currently, I am hard at work on several new features for the next version.  An Analysis section will provide you with graphs and charts to help you track your progress more visually.

A Cardio Log is also in the works.  I know I mentioned before that resistance training is of paramount importance when trying to transform the shape of your body.  Well, tracking your cardio sure doesn't hurt.  Several of you mentioned that you would like to be able to track the amount of time, calories burned, average heart rate, and other factors pertaining to your cardiovascular training.  No problem.  I'll do it.

By the way, you don't have to wait until all of these features are available before you purchase BodyTrans.  I always offer free or deeply discounted upgrades to all of my users.  I want you to have the latest tools to track your progress on the way to building your best body!
